Competition winning design for a new garden for the Musee Jenisch on the shores of Lake Geneva. The Neo classical building and its rich architectural context including the neighboring Russian Orthodox Church set the parameters for the design.

The garden is arranged within a series of formal hedges reiterating the linearity of the space and providing a backdrop for sculpture. At its centre a shallow reflective pool with a suspended slate base introduces a mysterious element into the space creating different effects according to the light and weather conditions. The edges of the garden are loosened by informal trees and multi-stemmed shrubs that juxtapose the geometry of the hedges.

An informal seating arrangement composed of metal chairs allows the space to be appropriated in a multitude of ways, staying adaptable for special events or sculptural installations.
