Landscape design for a new private residence overlooking lake Geneva. The site of the villa S was particularly challenging with a slope gradient exceeding 30% across much of the site. A context specific approach was taken throughout the design accentuating the drama of the topography and the views. Taking their cue from the neighboring hedge at the top of the property, a series of terraced box hedges stroke the hillside and lead the eye towards the lake beyond. In the lower section of the garden a wildflower meadow blends the decisive lines of the architecture into its gentle context of meadows, orchards and distant vineyards.
