Landscape design for an exceptional new house by Brauen + Wälchli Architects on the shores of lake Geneva. The design aims to sensitively integrate the building into its sloping parkland site with minimal disturbance to its setting. A system of sinuous gravel paths leads around the property linking the building to its garden. A large number of mature trees were retained and integrated into the new layout. The new planting was carefully planned according to its architectural qualities and its microclimatic requirements optimizing heat zones for the cultivation of Mediterranean aromatics and shaded areas for native hardy plants. A bespoke winding barrier made from steel rods secures the upper terrace of the garden.
